Question:
It is a norm in our locality that parents of the bride demand for extra four lakh rupees on top of the original Haq Mehr which was set between two parties during proposal. Is this correct in the eyes of Shariah? Similarly, is it correct to give a piece of land as Haq Mehr?
ہمارے علاقے میں لڑکی کا رشتہ کرنے پر والدین چار لاکھ کی فرمائش کرتے ہیں جو حق مہر سے ہٹ کر انکی ڈیمانڈ ہوتی ہے ، اسکے بارے میں کیا حکم ہے؟ اسی طرح کیا زمین کو حق مہر کے طور پر دے سکتے ہیں؟
